Nine days before launch Blizzard said some of the new racial traits felt too generic and others were objectively stronger, and that the final pass prioritises racial identity even if some races end up slightly better at some roles.
Removed: Orc Savage (1% crit), replaced by the return of Command (Hunter and Warlock pets deal 5% more damage); Dwarf Earth Fury, replaced by Artisan's Precision (1% hit with spells and attacks). Retuned: Human Ruthless 1% crit (was 2%) and The Human Spirit 10% Spirit (was 5%); Tauren Plainsrunning 2% per stack to 60% but no longer affecting mounted speed, Endurance back to 5% health only; Orc Blood Fury on a 2-minute cooldown; Troll Berserking 15 seconds; Undead Touch of the Grave internal cooldown 15 seconds.
Skyborne: Wind Blessed 2% haste (was 3%); Read Leyline 50% regeneration for 15 seconds, or 100% for an hour after use at a ley line (Attuned); Skysight 15% movement speed, or 30% for an hour after use at an elemental convergence (Charged). Both hour-long buffs survive death and are removed when you enter a raid.
Human Sword Specialization and Orc Axe Specialization are not coming back: Blizzard does not want future loot tables judged through required weapon types.
The shipping client at the time (1.60.1.70707) still carried the old tooltips; our race pages show the launch values.
