Camping in WoW Forever

Light a fire, build things around it, and everyone sitting nearby gets buffs that used to need a full group. Tier-1 features cost materials since 24 October; higher tiers are portable crafting stations.

What the higher tiers do

  • Crafting anywhere: Anvil, Master Forge, Loom, Sewing Machine, Alchemy Laboratory, Arcane Forge, Molten Foundry, Anarchist's Workbench and Iron Oven cover recipes that normally send you to a city.
  • Repairs and reagents: the Engineering Reagent Bot sells reagents and the Repair Bot repairs for everyone nearby.
  • Gathering: the Greenhouse grows herbs from seeds, the Seed Hybridizer combines seeds into rarer ones, the Rock Garden spawns a mining node over time.
  • Fishing: the Fishing Rack gives uncommon fish and lures for an hour; the Fishing Hut does the same for rare fish.
  • Odds and ends: the Arcane Salvager improves disenchanting, the Field Guide grants Track Beasts, the Trapper's Workbench holds a trap, Cookie's Feast lays out Stamina food, the Camp Tent lifts rested XP to 5% of a level.

Why it matters

A solo player with a Fish Bowl and an Enchanted Lute at the fire is close to having a Paladin and a Druid in the party. A duo with two professions covers two more slots. Gathering professions are no longer only a source of materials: Herbalism, Mining, Fishing and First Aid each bring a buff. High-end crafting stations also come from dungeons and raids. Recipe lists per profession are on the professions pages.

Questions players ask

How do I unlock camping?
Around level 5 with the quest The Great Outdoors, which teaches the Basic Campfire (a Cooking recipe at skill 1 using Simple Wood) and the Boosted Rest buff. Camping 101 quests then teach your profession's first camp feature; there are 87 of them across the twelve professions.
Do camp buffs stack with class buffs?
No. Each tier-1 feature is exclusive with the matching class buff (Fish Bowl with Blessing of Kings, Enchanted Lute with Mark of the Wild, and so on). They stand in when nobody in the group has the class.
How long do camp buffs last?
One hour, and every camp feature shares a single 60-minute cooldown, so set a camp up before a long session rather than between pulls. Sit or craft near the fire for one minute to receive the buffs.
