Layers
Copies of a crowded zone within one ruleset.
What Layers means in WoW Forever
When a zone fills up, Forever splits it into layers. You can end up on a different layer from a friend after a zone line or a boat; joining their party moves you to the party leader's layer. Layers are how a realmless game copes with launch-week crowds without separate servers.
