Rogue leveling guide
A fast single-target killer with no self-healing. Shank (24) and Poised (18) make the rotation smoother than Classic, and Riposte and Blade Flurry handle pairs, but you still live on food, bandages and Gouge.
Levels 10–19
Sinister Strike to 5, Eviscerate. Slice and Dice at 10. Poised at 18: start fights at full Energy for a cheaper opener.
New at the trainer: Slice and Dice (10), Sprint (10), Sap (10), Kick (12), Expose Armor (14), Garrote (14), Feint (16), Ambush (18), Poised (18)
Levels 20–29
Shank at 24: 5 Energy, cannot miss, gives 15 back. Riposte after parries. Sprint with Improved Sprint to break snares.
New at the trainer: Rupture (20), Crippling Poison (20), Instant Poison (20), Vanish (22), Shank (24), Detect Traps (24), Mind-numbing Poison (24)
Levels 30–39
Blade Flurry at 30 for pairs. Deadly Poison on the main hand, Instant on the off hand; poisons scale with Attack Power twice as hard now.
New at the trainer: Kidney Shot (30), Deadly Poison (30), Wound Poison (32), Blinding Powder (34)
Levels 40–49
Adrenaline Rush at 40. Riding at 40. Flash of Steel makes Shank 30 Energy every 8 seconds.
Levels 50–60
Malice and Lethality from Assassination; Relentless Strikes refunds Energy on finishers. Swap to Assassination daggers (Mutilate) or Subtlety (Death Mark) at 60 with dual spec.
Tips
- Pickpocket everything; the Legacy perk Thrill of Adventure heals after kills.
- Night Elf Shadowmeld works in combat on a 2-minute cooldown; Undead Will of the Forsaken; Dwarf Stoneform.
- Cooked food gives 5% kill XP and a Camp Tent raises rested XP; the Cozy Sleeping Bag chain adds up to 3% more. See the leveling guide.
- Riding at 40 costs about 100 gold in total; start saving at 25. See gold.
Race
Leveling pick: Troll / Dwarf. Troll Rapid Regeneration heals 50% between fights; Dwarf Stoneform cleanses and gives 10% physical damage reduction for 8 s. Full comparison on the Rogue races page.
