How Affliction plays

Bane of Agony, Corruption, Siphon Life, Curse of Shadow or Elements, Wrack, then Shadow Bolt with Nightfall procs. Drain Life with Soul Siphon when you need health, Drain Soul under 20%. Voidwalker tanks while leveling, Succubus or Felhunter in PvP.

Rotation and priority

  1. Bane of Agony and a Curse (Shadow for the raid, Elements for Mages)
  2. Corruption (instant with Improved Corruption)
  3. Siphon Life
  4. Wrack
  5. Shadow Bolt as the filler; instant Shadow Bolt on Nightfall
  6. Drain Soul under 20%, Drain Life if you are low

Tips

  • Pandemic and Soul Harvest reward keeping every dot up: track them, never let Corruption drop.
  • Life Tap for mana, Drain Life it back: Stamina is a damage stat for you.
  • Leveling with the Voidwalker: dot three mobs, let it tank, wand. Fear in PvP; Death Coil for the interrupt.

Leveling as Affliction

Drain-tanking with a Voidwalker is as safe as it was in Classic and faster: Improved Corruption is instant at 5 points, Soul Harvest refunds mana on Drain Soul kills, Siphon Life at 30 and Wrack at 40 scale with your dots. Managing health, mana and shards is the skill.
