Warrior leveling guide
Still the hardest class to level alone: no self-heal beyond Victory Rush and Blood Craze, and gear-dependent damage. Forever helps with normalized Rage, Victory Rush at 20 and Reckless Swings. Level with a healer friend or in dungeons when you can; as a tank you never wait for a group.
Levels 10–19
Charge, Rend, Heroic Strike. Battle Shout before every pull. Rend's bleed is 35% stronger with Improved Rend, so keep it rolling.
New at the trainer: Sunder Armor (10), Overpower (12), Shield Bash (12), Demoralizing Shout (14), Revenge (14), Mocking Blow (16)
Levels 20–29
Victory Rush heals 10% after a kill: chain pulls while it is up. Piercing Howl (talent) stops runners. Train Cleave at 20 for two-mob pulls.
Levels 30–39
Berserker Stance at 30 for Intercept and Whirlwind (36). Death Wish at 31 doubles your kill speed for 30 seconds. Defensive Stance has 80% threat for dungeon runs.
Levels 40–49
Bloodthirst at 40 (requires Death Wish). Plate armor at 40. Save 100 gold for riding at 40 before anything else.
New at the trainer: Mortal Strike (40), Bloodthirst (40), Shield Slam (40)
Levels 50–60
Execute under 20%, Improved Whirlwind cleaves, Slam every 15 seconds. Switch to Arms for Deep Wounds and Impale on crits.
Tips
- Weapon specializations are gone: use whatever hits hardest; Weaponmaster (Arms) gives a benefit per weapon type.
- First Aid Kit camp feature is 56 Stamina for free; keep bandages trained.
- Tauren Plainsrunning reaches 60% speed on foot; Dwarf Stoneform cleanses bleeds.
- Cooked food gives 5% kill XP and a Camp Tent raises rested XP; the Cozy Sleeping Bag chain adds up to 3% more. See the leveling guide.
- Riding at 40 costs about 100 gold in total; start saving at 25. See gold.
Race
Leveling pick: Tauren / Dwarf. Tauren Plainsrunning builds to 60% on-foot speed before you can afford a mount; Dwarf Stoneform cleanses bleeds and poisons and Big Game Hunter adds 5% against beasts. Full comparison on the Warrior races page.
